Terms of Use

Last updated September 1, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and WorkRate (“WorkRate”, “we”) covering the WorkRate iPhone app, the WorkRate Garmin data field, and our website (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who can use WorkRate

You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter into a contract. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for everything that happens under your account.

2. Training guidance is not medical advice

The WorkRate Score, coaching text, workout targets and training programs are automated guidance generated from the data you provide. They are not medical advice, they do not account for conditions the app cannot see, and they are no substitute for a doctor, physiotherapist or qualified coach. Consult a physician before starting or changing an exercise program, stop exercising if you feel unwell, and use your own judgement — especially about heart-rate targets, high-intensity sessions and training while injured, ill or pregnant. You use the Service at your own risk.

3. Your data

You own the workouts, health data and profile information you bring to WorkRate. You grant us the limited licence needed to store, process and display it in order to provide the Service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for having the right to share any data you import from third-party devices and apps.

4. Subscriptions (WorkRate Pro)

5. Acceptable use

Do not misuse the Service: no attempts to access other users’ data, disrupt or overload our systems, reverse engineer the app beyond what the law allows, scrape the Service, or use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend or close accounts that do.

6. Third-party services and devices

WorkRate works with Apple Health, Apple Watch and Garmin devices via Garmin Connect IQ, and uses Anthropic’s models for coaching. Those products are governed by their own terms and we are not responsible for them, for their accuracy (for example a watch’s heart-rate sensor), or for changes they make that affect the Service.

7. Our intellectual property

The Service — including its software, design, name, logo, program library and coaching logic — belongs to WorkRate and its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, subject to Apple’s App Store terms. Nothing here transfers ownership.

8. Availability and changes

We work hard to keep the Service running but it is provided “as is” and “as available”. We may change, pause or discontinue features, and we may update these terms; when changes are material we will tell you in the app or by email, and continuing to use the Service after that means you accept them.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of any score, metric or recommendation. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for injury or loss arising from your training decisions. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply to the extent permitted.

10. Ending the agreement

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time by emailing support@getworkrate.com (in-app deletion is on its way). We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms. Sections 2, 3, 7, 9, 10 and 11 survive termination.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, California, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.

12. Apple

This agreement is between you and WorkRate, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app and is not responsible for any claims relating to it; Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement and may enforce it against you.
